It is pertinent that employees or potential employees of the organisation involved in implementing aviation security measures, particularly aviation security screening undergo background checks and recurrent checks as deemed necessary.

Background checks shall include searches for any involvement with groups suspected of terrorist activities or sympathies, as well as verification of applicants’ identities and previous experience, including any criminal history. Recurrent background checks shall take place any time employees are required to renew their airport entry cards.
